About Us


The Division of Social Studies Education and the Division of Turkish Education provide services within the scope of the Turkish and Social Sciences Education Department in Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Education. Seven Professors, six Associate Professors, seven Assistant Professors continue their studies within our department.

The Division of Social Studies Education aims to provide basic knowledge, skills, behavior, and habits about teaching formation for social studies teacher candidates who will work in primary education. The program aims to raise individuals with advanced social participation skills, who are effective and productive in social life, who know their rights and responsibilities, as well as to provide students with a perspective to analyze social reality better than historical, geographical, and sociological aspects, to equip them with basic democratic values, to be sensitive, respectful to human rights, to interpret, use and organize information, to think critically, to make the right decision.

The Division of Turkish Education Program was established to train Turkish teachers who have sufficient and up-to-date knowledge and skills in Turkish education. Our mission is to train Turkish teachers who work to improve the quality, personal knowledge, and skills of education and training, who are exemplary to the society and their students, who have an attitude, attitude, and behavior; and to raise individuals who are committed to science, democracy, fundamental freedoms, human rights, scientific and professional ethical values, and owning historical and national values.
